Nearly 325 guests enjoyed a night of Grand Prix, electronic auto racing with the chance to win great prizes during our Evening of Dreams scholarship fundraiser. Throughout the night, guests enjoyed buffet-style heavy appetizers and a chance to contribute to a scholarship during a gift card frenzy in which anyone donating $50 had a chance to also receive a gift card of up to $75. Live auction prizes included air fare and park hopper passes to Disney World in Orlando, sports memorabilia, a hog roast for up to 40 and a catered party for 25 to Oogie’s Food Truck. The live auction raised more than $3,600.

"What a great evening! This event was a fun, supercharged yet unique way to support a very worthy cause!" said attendee Gay Hasselbring-Shoot.
During the evening’s festivities, a $1,000 scholarship was created with donations from the gift card frenzy. Foundation Board member, Kris Andrews, donated money to name the newly-created scholarship for her granddaughter Giselle Bodman.
"I really enjoy attending the Evening of Dreams event because it is a great way to give back to the college in an exciting environment. Being able to network and connect with some of the students that receive scholarships, as well as other donors is really impactful," said Alumni Board President Chris Pettit.
Congratulations also to Patty Martin of Downers Grove who was selected as the winner of the Dream Vacation Drawing arranged by Suzi Davis Travel. Raffle tickets were available for purchase before the event and throughout the evening for $25. A total of $32,000 was raised towards scholarships for Heartland Community College students.
