Career Connections Events

Encourage your students to attend the events hosted by Career Connections. These events are a valuable networking opportunity that could lead to a future job! If you'd like to help plan or implement one of our career events, please contact Ann Schick at Ann.Schick@heartland.edu

Student Internships

If you are working with a student who is interested in completing an internship for credit at Heartland, you can help get him or her started! 

3 Step Process

  • Student will find an internship opportunity or part time job related to their intended field
  • Student will secure a Faculty Advisor in an area related to their field of interest
  • Student will complete the Internship Approval Form by obtaining signatures from the Site Supervisor, Faculty Advisor and Dean/Division Chair and return to the Records Office (CCB 1600)

Encourage local employers to get involved with Career Connections at HCC

Classroom Connection

Academic and Career Advisors would be happy to visit your classroom to connect with your students. Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling a Career Presentation. Topics could include: interviewing skills, resume writing, job search techniques, or another topic of interest for your individual course. We also offer drop in resume reviews and cover letter critiques in our office. If you would like to require your students to visit Career Connections, we can give you more details on listing this service as a course requirement. Employers that do not follow these guidelines may forfeit eligibility to recruit through HCC Career Connections.
