Fly Your Sweetie to the Moon
Tuesday, February 13, 2018/6-9pm
Challenger Learning Center @ HCC

Have a romantic Valentine's Day with a candlelight dinner and a trip to the moon with the one you love. This magical evening begins with a candlelight Italian dinner of lasagna (meat or vegetarian), lettuce salad and fresh baked bread. Next, join the Challenger Learning Center staff as we fly 15 adult couples to the moon for a simulated space mission. Cake and punch are provided half way through the mission when we take a break and reflect upon the developments that took place during the mission. Upon completion of the mission, each couple is provided with a photo, flowers and chocolates.

Summer is Coming (Grades 2-6)

The Challenger Learning Center is one of the coolest places in town and the folks there know how to offer summer fun. Enjoy the most popular activities from last summer's camps including working with electronics, dissecting an alien, and making an edible bug. Camp will include a space mission. Please remember to bring a lunch for the day.

Parent & Child Stories & Science Fun (Ages 3-5)
Saturday, March 3, 2018/10am-12pm
Challenger Learning Center @ HCC
$15/pair, $10/additional child

Everyone loves to read a good story! We'll take story time a step further as we read a few stories and then complete science or engineering activities connected to the story. Cost is per parent/child pair. Adults must register too. Maximum of two children per adult for multi-child families. Children should have the maturity/ability to participate in a two hour program.

Get Your Game On (Grades 2-6)
Monday and Tuesday, March 26-27, 2018/8:30am-4:30pm

Do you enjoy games of all kinds? In this class, held at the Challenger Learning Center, we will enjoy board games and create our own games as well. We will explore the use of electronic circuits in games and even visit a computer lab to investigate and play some online games. We might even make one of our own! This program is open to grades 2-6. Bring a lunch each day.

Escape to a Galaxy Far, Far Away (Grades 2-6)

The Challenger Learning Center is the place to be as we create Star Wars character headbands, design a light saber, participate in Jedi training plus enjoy a liquid carbonite drink. Unmanned Aircraft General - Small Knowledge Test Prep
Saturday, April 7 and 14, 2018/8am-1pm

Want to fly a drone and get paid? Then, you need your remote pilot certificate. In this interactive, hands-on course, you will develop your understanding of these knowledge areas: UAS regulations, maintenance and preflight inspections; airspace classification and airport operations; aviation weather and emergency procedures; risk management and aeronautical decision-making; and much more. Taught by a certified remote pilot, this class will enable you to gain practical insight and application of aviation concepts and test taking skills. As a result, you will be better prepared to successfully pass the knowledge test and be on your way to earning your remote pilot certificate.

Certification exam is not included, this is just a test prep course. Exam process and locations will be discussed during class. Exam fees average $150. Lunch is not included.

Parent & Child Space Fun (Ages 5-10)

Join the Challenger Learning Center for a Space-tacular adventure as we explore all things outer space. Learn about rockets, our Solar System and beyond through fun hands-on activities! First, we take a journey through the Solar System and learn about the nine, correction, eight planets. Back on the ground, we explore past, present and future NASA missions and find out what these missions have taught us about the universe. For our grand finale we investigate the principles of rocketry and launch our own rockets. This program is open to students ages 5-10. Parents, or guardian must attend with child(ren). Both child and adult will need to register for this class. Cost includes all supplies.
