Community Day at Heartland Community College

Free Admission for All Ages

The free, family fun event returns to Heartland Community College this June. Classes begin at 9am. Activities start at 10am.

  • 40+ FREE sample classes, including Technology, Fitness, the Environment and more!
  • 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for 5th-12th grades with 5th/6th, 7th/8th and high school divisions
  • Live music by Chicken Shack and In the Wake, 10am-1pm
  • Challenger Learning Center classes, including a special mission: Eyes on Earth
  • Glitter Fairy
  • Zoo Lady
  • Bike Rodeo
  • Child development and safety screenings
  • Multicultural activities and demonstrations
  • EV car test drives
  • Fishing at Birky Pond
  • Campus trolley tours
  • Register for one or more summer Community Education classes during Community Day and receive a 25% discount*.

Community Day Partners include Easter Seals, the Cornbelters and the Normal Fire Department.

  • Guest Speaker: Charlie Kimball, Professional IndyCar Driver - 12-2pm
  • Cooking Demonstrations: Doreen Colondres, Celebrity Chef & Writer - 10:30am and 1:30pm (limited seating available)
  • Free Health Screenings: Peripheral Artery Disease, Bone Density, Cholesterol, Foot, BMI/Body Fat, AC1 (1-3pm)
  • Fitness Sessions - 10am-12pm: Chair Exercises with OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and Low Impact Zumba with Advocate BroMenn Medical Center
  • Information Booths: chiropractic, dental, nutrition, audiology, retirement living, pain management, fitness wear, KIDZ ZONE health activities and more!
