Youth Enrichment Program

YEP is dedicated to providing young people with exciting learning opportunities that allow students to explore, expand and experience new areas of interest.

Summer 2014 YEP Camp Schedule

Our Summer 2014 Youth Enrichment Program schedule is now available to view and register online or download the PDF. This summer, we are excited to offer over 130 camps in a wide variety of subjects, including several new courses and popular classes from the past. We are again offering a supervised lunch option so your child can stay on campus for morning and afternoon classes.

The YEP schedule booklet will be mailed the last week of March. Send us an email if you would like to be included on our YEP mailing list.

Early Registration Discount

Register on or before June 1, 2014 and receive a discount on your course fees. Early registration discount does not apply to YEP Supervised Lunch.

Registration Confirmation and Emergency Information

For your convenience, you can register online, by mail or by calling Community Education at (309) 268-8160. After registration, you will receive a confirmation letter, schedule and an emergency information form in the mail. Please make sure to complete all emergency information requested for your child(ren) so we are able to admit them in our YEP programs. For student safety, instructors will have emergency contact information for the duration of the class.

Eligibility

Ages and dates for each class vary. The grade level listed in the course title is the grade the student will enter in fall 2014.

Financial Assistance

Limited financial assistance is available for the Summer 2014 YEP camps. View the application for complete details and to apply for financial assistance, or call Community Education at (309) 268-8160.

Full or Canceled Classes

Community Education reserves the right to limit the enrollments or cancel any class due to insufficient enrollments. For this reason, please register early to reserve your place in the class of your choice. Every effort will be made to notify registrants that a class has been filled or canceled. Registrants may choose alternate courses or receive full refunds.

Refund Policy

Unless otherwise stated in the class description, if you wish to drop a class you must do so no later than two business days before the first class session to receive a refund. After that time, no refunds will be issued. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds or credits due to missed classes. No refunds will be given after the class has ended. Payments for course materials, supplies or textbooks are non-refundable. To drop a class, please call (309) 268-8160.

Behavior Policy

All students are expected to maintain appropriate and respectful behavior while attending YEP classes. If a child is disruptive, disrespectful or inappropriate, or jeopardizes the safety of others and staff intervention fails to yield results, parents will be contacted. If the behavior continues, staff reserves the right to dismiss the student from class without a refund.

Safety

Students should arrive no earlier than ten minutes before class begins and be picked up immediately following the dismissal of their class each day. For your child’s safety, a check-in and check-out signature by the parent/caregiver will be required each day.

Class Location

YEP classes are held on the Heartland Community College campus and at many partner sites in the area. Please have your student report to the class location listed in the confirmation letter. A map will be included for your convenience.
