Truck Driver Training Instructor
We seek applicants for a part-time instructor to teach Truck Driver Training courses within the College’s Continuing Education program. The instructor will teach in the classroom and behind-the-wheel, evaluate student progress, and complete related paperwork. Must be committed to staying current on industry trends and requirements.
This position will serve as a day and evening substitute, and may be assigned to 8-week evening classes, which run Monday – Friday, 5:00-9:00 p.m.
- Current CDL Class A license with medical card
- Minimum 500,000 miles and 10 years on-the-road safe driving
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to get into and out of truck cab
- Tanker, haz-mat, and double-triple endorsements
- Strong working knowledge of truck and trailer mechanics
- Familiarity with District 540 trucking industry employers
- Experience teaching adults
