Adult Education Reading Center Facilitator

We seek applicants for temporary, part-time positions in the Adult Education program to implement the Read Right® methodology for teaching reading. Will work directly with small groups of diverse students in the Reading Center to develop and improve reading skills, monitor and record student progress, and collaborate with other Adult Education staff in helping students overcome barriers to learning success. Morning and evening hours are anticipated to be available during future semesters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent reading skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently, problem-solve, and function professionally under pressure

Desired Qualifications

  • Teaching certification and/or master’s degree in reading, adult education, special education, or related field
  • Successful teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience working with diverse groups
