WIU On-the-Spot Admissions

On Wednesday, April 30, 2014 Western Illinois University Office of Admissions staff will be on Heartland's Normal campus from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to provide On-the-Spot admissions for students interested in starting at WIU in the 2014 summer or fall semester.  This opportunity is open to students who have not yet applied to WIU or have not yet received a decision regarding their current application.  Appointments for WIU On-the-Spot sessions can be made at Advisement (CCB 1000) or by calling (309) 268-8033.  Walk-ins are welcome!

In addition to on the spot acceptance, the admission’s staff will be conducting free transcript evaluations to any students interested in learning how their credits will transfer.

Prior to the appointment students are asked to:

  • Download and complete an application from: www.wiu.edu/admissions/applynow/
  • Bring completed application to the appointment/students unable to complete this step will have applications available to them at the appointment
  • Obtain a copy of their official Heartland transcript, which students must request in advance
  • Obtain a copy of any official transcripts from previous colleges or universities
  • Obtain a copy of their official high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores if less than 24 semester hours of college credit have been earned
  • Meet all of WIU's admissions requirements

Mark the "pay by check" option (this fee will be waived at the visit). Once submitted, students will have the ability to print the application and are asked to bring a copy to the appointment.

Admission decisions are made based on thorough evaluation of all application materials and transcripts.  In some cases “On-the-Spot Admission” may not be possible.
