Nominations now being accepted for HCC Distinguished Alumni awardFebruary 14, 2017
The Heartland Community College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni award. The award recognizes notable HCC alumni who demonstrate exceptional achievement in their profession and make a positive impact on their community. Nominations are due Friday, March 17, 2017.
“The purpose of the award is to recognize alumni who are making a difference in their community,” said Executive Director Chris Downing. “We encourage co-workers, family members, friends and professors to consider taking a few minutes to nominate an alum who deserves to be honored.”
Last year’s award winners were Justin and Adam Bellas, brothers and owners of Bellas Landscaping, which is a company they started while attending Heartland. The brothers participate in many volunteer projects throughout the community and often hire Heartland students for internships and seasonal help.
