First Presidential Search Candidate to visit

The first of four Finalists chosen in the search for a new president of Heartland Community College will visit campus Thursday, February 22 - Friday, February 23.

Melinda Tejada, Ed.D. is currently Vice President of Student Development at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL.

Consistent with the process used by the commissioned firm Academic Search, individual candidate names and information will be released the week of that candidate’s visit to campus.

Each of the four finalist candidates will visit the Heartland Community College campus for interviews and participate in forums to speak with employees and the public.

There will be a Community and Alumni open session from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on February 22 at the Astroth Community Education Center (ACEC) during which the public and media are invited to attend and meet Tejada.

Feb. 22-23 (Melinda Tejada)
Feb. 26-27 (candidate 2)
Mar. 1-2  (candidate 3)
Mar. 5-6 (candidate 4)

Open session times for each candidate will be posted on www.heartland.edu prior to each candidate visit.

The incoming President is expected to take office in July of 2018. Current President Rob Widmer will retire on June 30, 2018.
